Who we are.

Women of Wisdom of Acadiana (WOW) is a 501(c)3 diverse women's organization that strives to

  • Embrace, enlighten, and empower women to amplify their voices for diversity, equity, and inclusion

  • Collaborate with partners to create positive changes and improve quality of life for all

  • Act as a source of knowledge, experience, and inspiration for members and girls

On June 14, 2018, Phyllis Coleman Mouton invited 18 black women to join her to organize a new type of organization that would allow diverse women to unite, coalesce, and seek ways to improve quality of life for women, children and families. Three years later, WOW is nearly 100 women strong.
