We empower vibrant women to change lives and their communities.

We play many roles.

Our membership is comprised of Acadiana business leaders, nonprofit professionals, educators, and community organizers who have come together to leverage our strengths for collective action.

With over a dozen programs and subcommittees, there is room for everyone, a space for every interest, and you will find WOW members in many facets of our communities! From healthcare initiatives to early education efforts, and from economic development to arts patronage, we are uniting women to improve the quality of life for women, children, and families.

We roll up our sleeves and get to work.

We focus on fellowship, advocacy, education, unity, and inclusion. We take deep dives into important issues, challenge the status quo, and offer solutions to community concerns. We know that it will take effort and investment to improve our quality of life.

We make news.

We understand that in order to make significant impact, we have to step into the arena. We empower our members to ask the right questions, have generative conversations, and seek out opportunities to take on leadership roles in our communities like board positions, committee direction, and elected roles.

We spotlight the work of each other and people in our communities.

Our membership is something to celebrate! Lifting each other up is a core value of Women of Wisdom, and we do that by highlighting each other’s accomplishments - whether that be a promotion, a business success, or an important family event. And we extend that celebration to our friends in our communities…because when someone wins, we ALL win.

“A diverse membership allows WOW to engage with women who have different perspectives, experiences, stories, talents, and skills. This truly is a wow! We can be different and make a difference.”

— Phyllis Coleman Mouton, WOW founder and President of the Board of Directors
